Since yesterday, the municipality of Bolzano has been using a mobile siren from HÖRMANN warning systems to enforce the curfew on the population. They were not deterred by the horrific reports of thousands of dead and tens of infected people. The people had to be taken off the streets as quickly as possible. A mobile siren with announcement function was urgently needed. HÖRMANN Warnsysteme pulled out all the stops to deliver the siren to the South Tyrolean capital as quickly as possible.

South Tyrol is severely affected by the Corona virus. More people die from the virus every day. "The situation is very bad", said Sascha Hofer from the civil defence office of the municipality of Bozen. Despite the curfew, many people were also on the streets in groups. In order not to let the infection curve rise further, it was decided to increase the pressure on the population. Therefore, a mobile siren was ordered from HÖRMANN Warnsysteme on 12 March. These sirens of the Mobela 150D type are mounted on car roofs and can be used both for alerting and announcements.

The very next day, the siren left the production facility in Zwönitz (Saxony) on its way to Bolzano. "The borders were tight and the delivery required a special permit," says Martin Graf, who was in charge of the project on behalf of HÖRMANN. Finally, the mobile siren arrived in Bolzano on Thursday. "We installed it immediately and put it into operation," said Hofer. Emergency services from the fire brigade are now unmistakably drawing attention to the applicable regulations. In addition to a predefined announcement text, the drivers are also able to address people specifically via spherical loudspeakers.

The Mobela 150D mobile siren has already been used hundreds of times by many rescue services at home and abroad. It is often used as a supplement to existing stationary sirens. Its strength lies in the fact that it can be deployed very quickly depending on the situation, for example in Bolzano, when people do not comply with the necessary curfews.
